Whenever you use dried seasonings that are 'leafy' or 'flakes', ( thyme, oregano, rosemary, basil, red pepper flakes, etc.) always measure them into the palm of your hand before adding them to the pot, etc. Then with the index finger of your opposite hand, rub them around 3-4 times and then add to the recipe.
This 'wakes up' the spice and gives more flavor to the dish!
